The Petitgrain Moisturizer is an ideal everyday moisturizer for most skin types and works to keep moisture levels balanced throughout the day. If most moisturizers leave your skin wanting, you're trying to combat cold harsh winter weather or your skin is extremely dry all of the time, this moisturizer may be right for you.
The Cactus Concentrate is suitable for hormonal cystic blemish-prone skin. If you have tired eyes or are concerned about aging, this concentrate helps improve the appearance of skin. It is also faster absorbing so if you don’t like the feeling of a heavy moisturizer on your skin, this may be the right moisturizer for you.
The Everything Balm is suitable for all skin types. This balm is an herbal infusion without the addition of essential oils making it suitable for reactive, sensitive skin. It gently moisturizes dry, irritated, itchy, or inflamed skin. This also makes the perfect diaper bag balm for quick applications to a variety of skin irritations such as bug bites, chaffing, scrapes, stings, and, well, everything.
Frequently asked questions
Will an oil-based moisturizer make your skin greasy?
Great question! As long as you're using the correct moisturizer properly, an oil-based moisturizer should not make your skin feel greasy. However, there are some exceptions. For example, if you're new to oil-based products, you may experience a transition period where your skin adjusts its oil production. This is especially common if you're used to using products that strip your skin and are alcohol-based. Another example is if your skin is dehydrated it might feel dry and tight with a layer of oil on top. If this is true for you, make sure you're misting prior to moisturizing. This will help absorption. Last, our moisturizers are non-aqueous which means they don't contain water or fillers. So, a little goes a long way. Use as directed to make sure you're not using too much of the product.
How much moisturizer do I need to use?
Petitgrain Moisturizer: a pea-sized amount
Intense Hydration Cactus Concentrate: pea-size to dime-sized amount
Why is the Intense Hydration Cactus Concentrate so expensive?
Prickly pear is one of the most expensive and luxurious oils in facial care on the market. Our ingredient standards are high so we use organic, cold-pressed prickly pear oil. It's the first ingredient on the label meaning it's the most generously present and no other pressed serum or moisturizer does this (usually just a little is added to be able to list it on the key ingredients). In addition, we use exotic and nutrient-rich ingredients like murmuru butter, kukui nut oil, and blue tansy essential oil. For these reasons, the Concentrate is actually priced quite conservatively.
Why is the Intense Hydration Cactus Concentrate blue?
Blue tansy essential oil gives the Cactus Concentrate its blue hue. The concentrate does not contain any synthetic ingredients or colorants.
What does each moisturizer smell like?
Petitgrain Moisturizer: Nutty and earthy with a hint of warm smoke and bright citrus.
Intense Hydration Cactus Concentrate: Where the woods meet the ocean, fresh, exotic, and floral spa-like aromatics uplift and bring about feelings of calm and joy.
Everything Balm: Soft, faintly floral tea-like aromatics with herbal notes and olive undertones.
Aren't essential oils bad for your skin?
They can be. However, the ratio of essential oil in our products is formulated well below skin-safe percentages and they are only included for their skin nourishing properties and skin benefits, not specifically for their scent. We avoid using essential oils like lemon or cinnamon that can damage the skin and cause sensitization.
